11-Mile Urban Adventure Ride (Non-Competitive) – The Urban MTB Ride from McLaren park to the San Bruno Mountain saddle is a gem that SFUR would like to share with the non-competitive mountain bike community. The ride is 10-miles of legal urban adventure with 70% dirt, and an invigorating 1700′ of elevation gain. It features fun trails, stunning views, a mid-way water and restroom break, a ripping 1-mile singletrack descent, and a visit to the future location of the McLaren Bike Park. The ride will be offered as both self-guided and one group ride (11 am departure).
Youth/Family Bike Skills Challenge – The Bike Skills Challenge will consist of BMX and mountain bike skill features for youth/family, and beginners to practice and develop better bike handling technique. It will consist of five stations, and each participant will get star for completing each station. Collect 3 (or more) stars and earn a cool cycling prize (as donated by sponsors). A limited fleet of loaner bikes will be available for those without a suitable bike to test out the fun.
There will be other activities like bike repair clinics, a professional bike jump demonstration to watch, and for qualified advanced riders, a chance to ride a portion of the course.
Box Jump Demo
The Ride SFO Crew will be on hand with their urban style of entertainment, which involves lofting bikes off the box jump for flips, whips, bar spins, table tops, and suicides.
