1) Trails + Iconic San Francisco Views
The Presidio covers 1,500 acres and features an extensive hiking and biking trail network, perfect for nature lovers and adventurers. There are more than 24 miles of walking trails, 15 miles of bikeways, and eight scenic overlooks of the Golden Gate Bridge, the bay, the ocean, and the Presidio’s historic forests.
2) Presidio Visitor Center
Stop by the Presidio Visitor Center, where you’ll find suggested itineraries and learn about the different adventures you can experience in each region of the park.

The Presidio offers year-round free events and activities such as guided art hikes, trails for family-friendly bike rides, nature art installations, history exhibits, beach access, and more.

5) Getting There for Free
The PresidiGo Shuttle system provides free public transportation to and around the Presidio seven days a week, including service to and from downtown San Francisco. PresidiGo Downtown offers service between the Transbay Terminal, Embarcadero BART, Union Street/Van Ness Avenue, and the Presidio.
6) Free Picnic Areas
The Presidio is home to some of the most beautiful picnic areas in San Francisco, many with free barbeque grills and Golden Gate Bridge views. Bring your friends and family to enjoy a picnic or visit one of their many restaurants that span across all four regions of the park.
