About San Francisco’s “The Pineapple Guy”
In the summer of 2016, D’marc Williams, “The Pineapple Guy,” and his dog, Benzo, set out to Dolores Park with a few hollowed-out pineapples to sell to try to make ends meet. He had so much, that he and his security dog went every weekend for years. They enjoyed giving out free leis, souvenir cups, and pineapple hats and sunglasses to anybody that wanted to have a terrific day at the park. These all came along with fresh tropical drinks in pineapples, souvenir palm trees, CapriSun pouches, and even little Leprechauns.
Now in this Covid-19 spring of 2020, CapriKid has hunkered down in his home with his dog. He’s been developing elementary school distance learning curriculum, attempting home projects, and spring cleaning. All while watching The Tiger King and Ozark Season 3. Luckily he gets to walk Benzo by the park each day and sees that everyone needs some Dolores magic this spring and summer, while we all shelter in our homes.
