SF’s “How Weird” Festival Goes Online May 3 w/ Six Simultaneous Live Streams
San Francisco’s 2020 festival season sure is weird!
The How Weird Street Faire would have had its 21st event on Sunday, May 3, 2020. The faire is known for bringing many people together creating a very diverse community. During the pandemic, art and culture and community are still needed. Since people can not gather in the streets, How Weird is going to bring all the elements of the faire to people at home.
Introducing the first How Weird World Faire, an online event featuring live music, live art, live performances, live talks and seminars, and live tutorials from the marketplace. Come celebrate peace, creativity, and weirdness. This unique event takes place in Cyberspace.
The How Weird World Faire will be accessible from one webpage at https://HowWeird.org/WorldFaire. Plus there will be a show of fashions on live video chat. Just because we’re in lockdown doesn’t mean we can’t get weird and dance at home. Costumes are encouraged.
The How Weird World Faire will begin at 11:11 am PDT on Sunday, May 3rd, and go until 7 am on May 4th. There will be six simultaneous live streams, including two streams of music. An amazing collection of talented artists will showcase the extreme creativity of Northern California and beyond. All from the safety of your home.
The San Francisco Bay Area’s weirdest music festival takes place as scheduled on Sunday, May 3rd. How Weird showcases some of the best electronic dance music. Cutting-edge artists from around the world will provide an at-home dance experience. The soundtrack includes music from stages that would have been in the streets; Symbiosis, CCC, Muti Music, Northern Nights, Opel, Opulent Temple, Temple Nightclub, Pulse SF, Mountain Lion Hi-Fi, Bootie SF, and the Heavy Petting Zoo.
The How Weird Marketplace is open now, at https://howweird.org/marketplace. People can shop for their favorite festival clothing, jewelry, crafts, and art from the comfort of their home any time. There are lots of great items to spruce up your lockdown. There will be specials and sales on May 3rd, so make sure to browse the stores then. There will also be video demonstrations from the vendors, as well as live tutorials.
Art Alley will be showcasing live artists throughout the day. Be inspired by all the creativity around us, especially in these times. There are links to all the artists participating, with online galleries, at the How Weird website – https://howweird.org/art-alley-2
The World Faire is free and open to anyone on our locked down planet. How Weird welcomes all ages, and all types of people and other beings.
The How Weird World Faire is also raising funds for How Weird and all the artists and speakers and performers participating. How Weird is a project of the nonprofit World Peace Through Technology Organization (WPTTO). You can donate to the faire and all of its struggling artists during the World Faire. If you are able to contribute, please do. You can donate to How Weird at https://paypal.me/wptto
These are weird times. There is much uncertainty and fear in our isolation. How Weird has been greatly affected by the pandemic and the widespread cancellation of events. We are saddened by all the pain and suffering we see around the world and in our own community. At the same time, we are excited about expanding How Weird in new directions and know that these changes will be permanent and lead to new ways of doing things that we never imagined before.
