The Great San Francisco Scavenger Hunt
Join in a fun chase through San Francisco during the third annual Great Scavenger Hunt hosted by the Burning Man Project from noon to 4 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2013.
Chase down and photo document all of the items on your list in teams of 3-6 for the chance to earn prizes and see the city, so join in on the fun and spend your Sunday searching the city instead of just standing around.
2013 “No Spectators Day”: Burning Man Scavenger Hunt

Patricia’s Green in Hayes Valley, San Francisco
FREE2013 Scavenger Hunt Details:
Starting location: Hayes Green near “Futures Past” sculpture by Kate Raudenbush.
Finish location: Along the Embarcadero – location is given with your task list.
- They will be there noon to 1:15 pm. Find the Unicorn. Teams will check in and be formed starting at noon. Scavenger Task List will be distributed at 12:30 pm or 1:15 pm at the latest. End time will be 4 pm (they will be there at 3:15pm to begin checking in arrivals).
- Teams will be 3-6 persons and you must stay together on your adventure. All items on list will be in San Francisco and readily found by foot or public transit. You will be on and off your feet for about 3-4 hours. Wear comfy shoes.
- You need at least one electronic photo-taking device per group. You must photo document your finds and email photos to be verified after to receive 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize.
- Most activities will take place in the Central Market Area of San Francisco and there will be some rules to follow-though you know we aren’t too strict.
The hunt celebrates “No Spectators Day,” an officially recognized day on July 31. “No Spectators” refers to one of the core values of the Burning Man community which proclaims that you should not be a spectator, but a participator – in art, in life, and yes, in this scavenger hunt too.
