Summer “Friday Night Market”: Grand Opening

A brand new weekly free festival kicks off at UN Plaza

In trying to make United Nations Plaza a comfortable and fun evening destination rather than a public space you walk quickly through, the city is throwing a series of late summer night markets with a beer garden, live music, food trucks, DIY art workshops and nearly 50 artisan vendors.

Every Friday, Sept. 5 to Oct. 24 | 4 to 9 pm

For the grand opening of the new Friday Night Market on September 5th, expect UN Plaza to be filled with food trucks, vendors, a music stage and a beer garden.

DJ and live folk rock from Highway Poets

Vendors:
Around 45 different vendors each week including: art, jewelry, indie designed apparel, pre-packaged foods (like truffles and homemade jerky), vintage apparel and re-purposed furniture pieces. All items are either made by the individual or are re-purposed antiques.

Beer Garden:
That’s right – a beer garden right in the middle of UN Plaza featuring a selection of local brews, wines, and cocktails (along with virgin “mock”tails) made from local ingredients. Happy Hour (4 to 6 pm) withbuy one, get one drink specials.

Learn how to make your own terrarium, jewelry, design your own tote bags and more in the works.
