Teddy Bear Hunt Perks Up The Bay Area + SF’s Map of Where to Find Them
Teddy Bears never fail to give us this warm fuzzy feeling. Everyone loves a stuffed animal; we’ve all had one at some point in our lives. Some of us might still have one – a cute, furry friend that has been with us through thick and thin.
Inspired by the book written 30 years ago, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by British author Michael Rosen, communities all across the globe are bringing the story to life to help children and the young at heart during this time of lockdown. Our local Bay Area neighborhoods have joined in by placing teddy bears and other stuffed animals in their front windows or in their front yard to create a fun scavenger hunt for families walking or driving around the neighborhood.
As the famous lines from the book go, “We’re going on a bear hunt. We’re going to catch a big one. What a beautiful day! We’re not scared.” Let this be a reminder that together we fight and we will surpass any adversity.
> Want to go on a Bear Hunt in San Francisco? Thanks to Mission Local for sharing a Teddy Bear Map that’s been circulating around. If you’re in The City and want to participate, decorate your window with a teddy bear and add yourself to the map.
Here are some adorable teddies spotted in the Bay and all around the world.
How could we resist! If you are out for a walk, run or biking in our neighborhood, we have a little something fun for the kids! ? #TeddyBearHunt – Please remember to keep 6’— 6’ distance with each other if you stop by. #ThrowbackThursday 1985 Teddy Ruxpin doll pic.twitter.com/VvsRc2nGS8
