Surrounded by public controversy from its inception, the Immigration Station on Angel Island put into operation in 1910, celebrates its 100th anniversary.
The program includes a dedication of the new exhibits including the Interrogation Table, a book launch and signing by Erika Lee and Judy Yung on Angel Island: Immigrant Gateway to America, and cultural performances. Admission is free – 11 a.m.to 4 p.m.
The event is free to attend, but cost of ferry to Angel Island varies according to where you take off from.
Ferry From Tiburon: Angel Island Tiburon Ferry – $13.50 (round trip)
Ferry From San Francisco: Blue & Gold Ferry (Pier 39 to Angel Island) – $8.00 (one way)
