TRON (1982)

A joystick jockey gets computer-ingested by giant laser while trying to hack a globally networked security AI. Can Kevin Flynn prove his intellectual property rights while immersed in the very video games he coded? With a terribly expensive cell animation process, TRON would go on to become a cult classic for its visionary world building, pioneering CGI, quirky Wendy Carlos soundtrack, and possible lack of a compelling story. Featuring The Dude, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, David Warner, Bruce Boxleitner, Cindy Caddyshack Morgan and graphics rendered by a PDP-10. Directed by Steven Lisberger.
