The family-friendly event will feature live music, arts and crafts, and international cuisine. Visitors are invited to bring mementos of their loved ones to place on the Dia de los Muertos altar. Festive attire is encouraged.
About Pico Sanchez:
Mission icon, Frederico (Pico) Sanchez, who passed away last December, came to San Francisco in the 1980s. Pico described his style of work as “sophisticated and naïve” and was most known for his vibrant murals adorning the Mission neighborhood. Pico lived and worked at the Project Artaud arts complex for twenty-five years, where he was ten-time president and a pioneering member of the arts community, earning him the title of “The Prince of Artaud.”
