Dead Funny: A Night of Comedy and Zombies

Monday, January 20, 2025 - 7:30 pm | Cost: $15
The Lost Church | 988 Columbus Ave, SF, CA

Event Details

Movie: Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Runtime: 1hr 36m
Comedians: Jalisa Robinson, Dauood Naimyar, and Phil Griffiths
More on the comedians:
Phil and Dauood are both better comedians than me; both have been doing comedy for 11+ years (I’m at 7 years) and both are local headliners, club features, and road headliners from time to time.
Dauood is a movive-buff Afghan-American comedian who has in your face comedy and is like pop-culture funny (can do any room, any demo) – he was in the SFCC finals in 2019.
Phil is a British-American (mostly American, no accent lol) Dad whose children are now in college, which seems to have made his comedy wildly inappropriate (in the best way). He was in the SFCC semifinals (like me!)
Phil Griffiths
instagram: @philgriffs | website: philcomedy.com
Bio: As far as mid-life crises go, Phil Griffiths’ wife stacks his career in stand-up comedy as better than a drug addiction but worse than him having a mistress. Phil has featured for Todd Glass, Kyle Kinane, Ms. Pat, Beth Stelling, Laurie Kilmartin, Chad Daniels, Jackie Kashian, and more. He also produces and hosts Comedy Sharks, a successful comedy showcase in the Bay Area.
Dauood Naimyar
instagram: @dauoodn | website: dauood.com
Bio: Born with a foreign name in an American country (America), Dauood Muhammad Naimyar learned the value of assimilating at a very young age. Because of this, he tried his best to not be different but failed at every encounter. Once he embraced his eccentric point of view, he saw the humor all around him. Dauood’s comedic perspective is shaped by the duality of his constant need to fit in, and his relentless desire to be different. His search for being relatable yet controversial has brought audiences joy for nine years–and will probably continue until he finally figures out who he is. We hope he doesn’t, ’cause bills need to be paid.
Jalisa Robinson
instagram: @therealjalisa
Bio: Stand-up comedian and writer Jalisa Robinson brings her sometimes-deadpan, sometimes-sparkling style to everything from race to the patriarchy to getting hit on at Whole Foods. A native midwesterner, she now lives in California and was a San Francisco International Comedy Competition Semi-Finalist (2022). A favorite at clubs in California, she’s opened for Hannibal Burress and Kamau Bell. She also performs at festivals across the US. and appeared as a featured comedian in the Netflix is a Joke Comedy Festival (2024).
Vaccines, boosters, and masks are strongly encouraged, but are not required as per local Public Health Policy.
