The Portuguese Heritage Society of California (PHSC), proudly hosts the 11th Annual Dia de Portugal Festival on the second Saturday in June at History Park San Jose (Kelley Park), one of the largest events in California celebrating the Portuguese culture.
The official name, Dia de Camões, de Portugal e das Comunidades Portuguesas (“Day of Camões, Portugal, and the Portuguese Communities”), marks the date of Luís Vaz de Camões’ death on June 10, 1580 and is Portugal’s National Day. Camões wrote the Lusiadas, Portugal’s national epic celebrating Portuguese history and achievements.
Day Long Activities
10:00 AM – Opening of park and festival
Noon – 5:00 PM – Childrens Activities including storytelling, arts and crafts, a Fun-Jump, and more!
