Captain’s Log… April 25, 2026.
Our sensors have detected… a phenomenon.
A transmission from the far reaches of space. A signal pulsing with rhythm, glamour, and questionable scientific methodology. Its designation:
DIVA or Die: S3X-1
On this night, brave explorers will hop in their glitter ball flying saucers and gather at The Lost Church, San Francisco.  There, they will partake in an otherworldly burlesque and variety spectacle inspired by the glorious offerings brought together by science fiction and cinema.  S3X-1, where campy sci-fi and burlesque/variety join together as perfectly as ray guns and rubber aliens or trouble and tribbles.
Strange beings have been sighted.\nSpace vixens of extraordinary …. charisma.\nVery important and highly groovy interplanetary scientific experiments.
Rogue robots with giant silvery cylinders. \nCreatures from distant worlds who appear to look and think remarkably like humans.
Our mission is clear: to explore strangely sexy performances… to seek out new acts, to witness displays of interstellar glamour and absurdity… and to boldly go where burlesque may have gone before, but never quite like this.
The science may be improbable.\nThe danger may be theatrical.\nBut the entertainment is very very real.
Join us on April 25, 2026 for S3X-1, a cosmic celebration of retro futuristic sci-fi camp from the farthest reaches of the galaxy or at least the Bay Area.
Prepare for alien encounters.\nPrepare for unexpected life forms.\nPrepare… for liftoff.
With MC Rosie Fingers and performers:
Lady Malavendra

DIVA or Die Burlesque is a produced by Calliope Quaint and with Assistant Producer Rosie Fingers!

Calliope Quaint: Calliope Quaint is an accomplished musical theatre performer and lifelong dancer.  Calliope first brought her sparkling repertoire of captivating caricatures to the world of burlesque in 2008. Her solo acts have won awards at the Arizona Burlesque Festival (Judge’s Choice in 2019) and the Great Burlesque Exposition (Most Humorous in 2014, and Most Classic in 2016). Other notable appearances include The Texas Burlesque Festival, London Burlesque Festival, Ohio Burlesque Festival, Toronto Burlesque Festival, Panama Burlesque Festival, and Hollywood Burlesque Festival.  She changed her name in June 2024, previously performing under the name Red Velvet. She has been the head diva of DIVA or Die since its inception in 2012.  In addition, she has co-created five theatrical burlesque/cabaret productions.  She is also the director of the San-Francisco based cancan and burlesque troupe, The Quainted Ladies (previously known as The Velvettes).   She’s no saint, she’s Calliope Quaint.

Rosie Fingers: Rosie Fingers is a union-made maker of misery and mayhem for the agents of capital. Co-founder of Bay Area wrestling show Full Queer: Wrestling for Rights.  Rosie is new to the burlesque stage, but not new to MCing.   Be nice to her. Or don’t. She’s into that. Or at least she knows when to hit back and when to ask for more.
