The Function’s On at Acapella Oakland to honor the music of Raphael Saadiq including Toni Tone Tony, Lucy Pearl, Raphael Saadiq solo projects, guest features, samples and songs he’s produced for other artists. The only other opportunity to experience such an occassion is at his concerts. Dj Elbow Greasy whose attended every Raphael Saadiq tour from NYC to the Bay and has complied mixtapes of Saadiq’s music for the past decade has created a four hour experience of non-stop music to have you get down and take you on a journey from the late 80’s, thorugh the 90’s and into the 2000’s. No other artist has touched every genre of music from hip-hop, soul, funk, r&b, rock and undoubtedly slow jamz. If you’ve ever attended a Raphael Saadiq concert, then you know what to experience from a Raphael Saaadiq party by someone whose attended his concerts multiple times throughout the country.
