Ready to dust off that old Schwinn and take her for a spin? Interested in learning more about DIY bike maintenance, local road and trail biking clubs, and how to make a pedal power machine from a stationary bike to make soap, smoothies, ice cream and more?
Ride on down to the School Farm for this month’s Bakers Alley Bicycle Bonanza. Learn about do-it-yourself bike maintenance and repair from Dan, a worker-owner from Box Dog Bikes and also see examples and demonstrations of how to get more from your bike by generating mechanical and electrical power.
Meet other bike enthusiasts and beginners as well as organizations, clubs, and advocates for a more livable urban infrastructure for bikes and pedestrians.
The School Farm is located next to the athletic field at the School of the Arts and the Academy of Arts and Sciences high schools at 555 Portola Dr. San Francisco. Enter campus via O’Shaughnessy Blvd @ Portola. Close to 36, 44, 48, and 52 Muni lines. From the parking area on O’Shaughnessy, walk down the hill to the right towards the athletic field. Limited parking is available further down driveway at loading dock, just keep driveway clear and please do not park on the grass. We’ll be on the farm the behind the bleachers across the field.
