Stream ‘Unlikely’ from May 14-21 and join us on May 19 for an impactful conversation about higher ed equity issues in the Bay Area and beyond. 100% of your ticket purchase funds a scholarship for a low-income, high-need youth in San Mateo County.

About ‘Unlikely’:
Set in the cities of Akron, Atlanta, Boston and Los Angeles, five individuals failed by the higher education system fight for a second chance at opportunity.

A feature documentary from Three Frame Media filmmakers Jaye & Adam Fenderson, ‘Unlikely’ investigates America’s college dropout crisis and the barriers students face in their pursuit of an education and meaningful career.

About the Panel:
The “Equity in Higher Education: The Bay Area and Beyond” panel will explore systemic barriers to higher education across the country and in San Mateo County. We will hear from:

– ‘Unlikely’ director/producer Jaye Fenderson
– ‘Unlikely’ cast member Kalif Robinson
– Dr. Lauren Ford from the SMCCD Promise Scholars program (https://smccd.edu/promise/)
– Denisse Velazquez from Students Rising Above (https://studentsrisingabove.org/)

The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Jeremiah Sims, the Director of Equity at the College of San Mateo.

All proceeds will benefit the County of San Mateo Jobs for Youth Al Teglia Scholarship program (https://jobsforyouth.org/risewithcourage). Every year, Jobs for Youth provides 20 youth from San Mateo County with $1,500 each.
