A not to miss screening of The Mission, followed by a panel discussion and Q & A.

When COVID-19 hit, Valerie Tulier-Laiwa knew her neighborhood would be greatly affected. With the help of several childhood friends, she jumped into action to meet the needs of the Latino community and beyond. Her personal story isn’t just what brought her here, it’s what keeps her going.

Panelists include Valerie Tulier-Laiwa, community activist and coordinator of the Latino Task Force, Lydia Chavez, artist and executive editor of Mission Local and Helene Goupill, filmmaker.

The film is a collaboration with Mission Local, Still I Rise Films, Lydia Chavez, featuring the work of the Latino Task Force. Filmed and edited by Helene Goupil, Illustrations by Molley Olson, music by Javi Jimenez and sound mix by Lemon DeGeorge.
