About the Conversation
Helping children become decent, compassionate adults is important, for society and spiritually, and navigating the digital world matters. In this last Forum of 2015, they are going to delve into the tricky questions about children and the digital age that challenge parents, grandparents, educators and everyone who cares about children.
- How much screen time is too much? How do you talk to children about disturbing or sensitive news? Ten years ago, you might have been able to hide the newspaper; now, you might have learnt about the Paris attacks from your twelve-year old, who saw it on Twitter. What about the barrage of marketing to kids that takes place on targeted channels?
- How to deal with issues of sex, gender and body image, and what about the photo vault apps (a.k.a. ghost apps) that factored into the recent Colorado high school sexting scandal? They’ll be leaving extra time for audience questions at this Forum.
