How are you spending Halloween? How about a free 24 Hour Horror Movie Marathon?

As the director of Hostel and Cabin Fever, Eli Roth knows a thing or two about horror flicks. Well, behold ELI ROTH’S MIDNIGHT MOVIE MARATHON, a fundraiser event for CELLspace, the non-profit collaborative art center in the Mission.

MOVIE ENTRY IS FREE. Proceeds from sale of Beer & Wine (until 2a), Soda, Coffee, Food, , Snacks, Popcorn go to CELLspace.

SCHEDULE OF MOVIE SHOWINGS:

  • Noon: The Thing (1982) John Carpenter flick about an arctic monster, with Kurt Russel.
  • 2 pm: Zombie (1979) Italian sequel to Dawn of the Dead from “godfather of gore” Lucio Fulci.
  • 3:45 pm: The Vanishing (1988) Not horror but more of a disturbing thriller similar to Hostel.
  • 5:30 pm: MEAL BREAK!
  • 6 pm: Pieces (1982) Spanish slasher film badly dubbed but with great chainsaw, errr, bits.
  • 7:45 pm: The Wicker Man (1973) British horror w Christopher Lee set on creepy island village.
  • 9:30 pm: Who Can Kill A Child? (1976) About a killer-kid, from “Spanish Hitchcock” Dir. Narciso Ibez Serrador.
  • 11:15 pm: MEAL BREAK!
  • 11:45 pm: Eraserhead (1977) Early nightmarish David Lynch flick it took him six years to make.
  • 1:30 am: Suspiria (1977)  Operatic & weird enough for start time daze, filled w/ horrific imagery.
  • 3:15 am: Cannibal Holocaust (1980) Similar to Blair Witch Project, about guys who film a cannibal tribe.
  • 4:45 am: MEAL BREAK!
  • 5:15 am: Evil Dead (1981) Don’t really have to sell this one. Bruce Campbell. Sam Raimi. Bam.
  • 7 am: Audition (1999) Japanese flick in which suspense builds and builds and builds and…
  • 9 am: Torso (1973) Italian slasher flick with lesbian erotic subplot. Not a bad way to end the day.
