The de Young Museum / Kimball Education Gallery / September 2nd, 2023 / Noon – 2pm
Join us for a beading workshop with artist Demetri Broxton inspired by the beadwork in Crafting Radicality: Bay Area Artists from the Svane Gift.
Learn the beaded backstitch, the most common technique used for bead embroidery, and create your own beaded patch using a variety of seed beads. Explore the power of color to add dimension, meaning, and mood to artwork. No prior experience is required. This is an excellent class for beginners as well as more advanced embroiderers who want to push their practice to the next level.
