Join one of the groups that has been participating the longest in PARK(ing) Day for a full afternoon of food and fun at the San Francisco Planning + Urban Research (SPUR) Association’s Urban Center facility on Friday, September 16.
PARK(ing) Day was first celebrated in San Francisco in 2005 and to celebrate this year’s event, SPUR will host a free chicken mole tasting from a La Cocina cook and El Puesto, an ongoing, traveling food installation by artists Sergio De La Torre and Chris Treggiari.
Food will be served while supplies last, so stop by early to ensure you can chow down on some tasty treats and take part in this unique urban experience that’s transformed into a global community event.
About PARK(ing) Day 2011
An annual, worldwide event from Rebar that inspires city dwellers everywhere to transform metered parking spots into temporary parks for the public good, PARK(ing) Day gives citizens the opportunity to use these mini-parks as performance spaces, reading lounges or just plain resting places.
