Alison Bing, author of Lonely Planet’s Venice & Veneto, Venice Encounter, Italy and Discover Italy, will give a talk entitled “City of Floating Ideas: Venice, Then & Now.”

Alison will take us on a journey across Venice, stopping at eight spots where history-making breakthroughs happened – and are continuing to happen today, with an emphasis on culture and cuisine. She will also illustrate how Venice continues to reinvent itself and shape global culture with avant-garde ideas.
