About The Function

The Function is San Francisco’s first Black-owned comedy club, located on Market Street near Hayes Valley. The space blends a stylish cocktail lounge with an intimate comedy room, creating a close, electric atmosphere where every show feels personal.

The club has quickly become a favorite hangout for working comics across the Bay Area. On any given night, you might see comedians stopping in after shows elsewhere, testing new material, or dropping in unexpectedly.

It’s a place where audiences get to experience comedy up close and often see rising talent and surprise guests before they move on to larger stages.
