Free SF Fútbol Night: Roll Fog Film Preview + Panel (KALW)

Join KALW for an evening exploring the culture, community & future of fútbol in San Francisco, with filmmakers, photographers, and fans.

Soccer is about more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about community, identity, creativity, and the people who keep the game beautiful.

Join KALW for an evening exploring the culture and future of fútbol in San Francisco, featuring filmmakers, photographers, designers, and community builders working at the intersection of soccer and local culture.

At the center of the conversation is Roll Fog, a documentary by filmmaker Daniel Díaz about the oldest community-owned soccer club in the United States, whose loyal supporters face the loss of their home amid the arrival of a new, billionaire-backed team. What happens when a community’s connection to the game is threatened, and what does it take to keep that spirit alive?

Through a preview of Roll Fog, a short film from Fútbol by the Bay, and a conversation among voices from the local scene, we’ll explore who gets to shape the future of San Francisco soccer, what makes its culture unique, and why the stories around the game matter as much as the action on the field.
