On Friday nights the entire museum is open until 8:45 p.m. Friday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours, and lectures. The cafe is open with a special Friday Nights dinner menu, and a no-host cocktail bar is serving drinks. There are art making activities for everyone. All Friday Night programming is FREE unless otherwise noted.

The Young at Art festival, a collaboration between the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the San Francisco Unified School District, celebrates the creativity of local youth in the visual and performing arts. This eight-day festival runs May 8–16, culminating in a spectacular Friday Night with performances by talented local high school students. www.youngatartsf.com

Artist Studio/Kimball Education Gallery

View visual works by more than 2,000 students in the Kimball Gallery and in other “free zones” of the museum.

Hands-on art making for everyone with Art Diva Kim Erickson. Sculpt a city out of paper.
