Friday Soirées with the Alliance Française celebrates Fête de la Musique, with live music by troubadour Eric John Kaiser on his “Pardon My French Tour 2010,” a special lecture on Fête de la Musique by Dr. Alexandra Amati-Camperi, the International School of the Peninsula Children’s Choir, and a strolling accordion player just like those you might see on the streets of Paris. Join Mademoiselle Kim each week for a hands-on art project for all ages.
Cultural Encounters: Friday Nights at the de Young presents Friday Soirées with the Alliance Française and Eric John Kaiser

- 6:30–8:30 p.m. Live French music by troubadour Eric Kaiser
- 6:00-7:00 and 7:15 p.m. International School of the Peninsula Children’s Choir
- 6:00 p.m. Strolling accordion player Richard Kuhns- Richard Kuhns will be sharing a collection of musettes, music of Piaf/Jacques Brel, favorite standards, and Jazz Manouche
- 7:00-7:30 p.m. Lecture by Dr. Alexandra Amati-Camperi on Fête de la Musique
- 6:30–8:30 p.m. Hands-on art making for everyone with Art Diva Kim Erickson: Make found object musical instruments inspired by street musicians of 19th Century Paris
- 7:00 p.m. Docent Tour of Birth of Impressionism: Masterpieces of the Museé d’Orsay
About Friday Nights at the de Young
On Friday nights the entire museum is open until 8:45 p.m. Friday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours, and lectures. The cafe is open with a special Friday Nights dinner menu, and a no-host cocktail bar is serving drinks. There are art making activities for everyone.All Friday Night programming is FREE (no museum admission required) unless otherwise noted.
