Event Details

Harvey Milk, born May 22, 1930, was the first openly gay public official. He constantly fought for the disenfranchised. Milk served only 11-months in the office before being assassinated, but his impact on the LGBTQ community is everlasting. His platform was and is one of hope.

“I know you can’t live on hope alone; but without hope, life is not worth living. So you, and you and you: you got to give them hope; you got to give them hope.” –  Harvey Milk

A Gay Rights Activist. Friend. Lover. Unifier. Politician. Fighter. Icon. Inspiration. Hero. His life changed history, and his courage changed lives.

Let’s take a look back at the colorful life of Harvey Milk via NBC News.
