Pleasanton, CA – The UCCE Master Gardener Program of Alameda County (MGAC) is thrilled to announce the return of the Incredible Edible Plant Sale, scheduled for April 13th and 14th, 2024. Held at the Pleasanton Senior Center located at 5353 Sunol Boulevard, Pleasanton, the event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on both days.
The Incredible Edible Plant Sale offers a diverse selection of vegetable seedlings and culinary herbs, available for in-person sales only. With each 4-inch pot, 4 and 6 cell containers priced at $4, attendees can expect an extensive inventory of edible plant choices. To preview the available selection, visit http://www.incredibleedibleplantsale.com starting February 17, 2024.
This year’s event will feature several 30-minute workshops, including plant care, helping tomatoes thrive, and container gardening. Follow our social media platforms for updates on workshop schedules and topics.
Attendees can anticipate a wide range of offerings, from tomato plants including heirloom, cherry, slicers, container, and paste varieties, to culinary favorites such as peppers, summer squash (zucchini), winter squash (pumpkin), and an assortment of other vegetables and herbs.
Proceeds from the sale will support the community education efforts of the UCCE Master Gardener Program of Alameda County, aligning with our mission to provide the public with UC research-based information on home horticulture, sustainable landscapes, and pest management practices. Now in its fourth year, the MGAC plant sale has become a beloved Pleasanton springtime tradition.
In addition to supporting various programs, funds will be allocated to the development of the Educational Garden at the Pleasanton Community Farm. This project aims to establish an interactive space for sustainable gardening education, offering diverse plantings and hands-on learning opportunities. Situated on Laguna Creek Lane, this initiative is poised to enhance the community with vibrant educational experiences.
Additionally, a portion of the plants sold will be donated to community garden organizations with food donation operations.
Join us at the Pleasanton Senior Center on April 13 – 14, 2024, for this exciting event!
