They wear superhero outfits color-coded like the Power Rangers, gnarl a lot and leap around on the stage.

And they’re from Japan (recently relocated to NYC).

Okay, I think that should be sufficient for you to go to this FREE show from Peelander-Z. (No, no that’s not a weird name. In fact, it makes perfect sense: there’s Peelander-Yellow on guitars, Peelander-Red on bass and Peelander-Blue on drums. Right, except Blue left the band so it’s now Peelander-Green on drums. My bad.)

Okay we’ll throw one more band from Japan, Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re plus a local happy hardcore band called Gnarboots (San Jose). Still a free show.
