Event Details

Golden Gate Park’s Japanese Tea Garden is the oldest public Japanese garden in the United States.

Admission is free all day (9am to 6pm)  at the Japanese Tea Garden on Monday, April 4, 2016 in honor of Golden Gate Park’s 146th Birthday. Normally admission is $8 for non-residents and $6 for San Francisco residents.

Dating back to 1894 for the California Midwinter International Exhibition, the Japanese Tea Garden features classic elements such as an arched drum bridge, pagodas, stone lanterns, stepping stone paths, native Japanese plants, serene koi ponds and a zen garden. Cherry blossom trees bloom throughout the garden in March and April.
