Kids seem to love gross things, and dissecting a cow eye probably fits that bill for many, but it’s also a great lesson about how the miraculous things we take for granted actually work. As the old saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as Maranda Quigley (who leads the Biology session) is the daughter of Paxton Gate owner, Sean Quigley.
Opened in December 2009, Curiosities For Kids is the kid store version of Paxton’s Gate, a strange shop filled with fossils and animals subjected to awesome rogue taxidermies (think: stuffed Piranhas and Jackalopes.) So it makes sense that they would want to extend that wonder to kids: besides the dissection workshop, they also can mount your favorite stuffed animal. And, on Friday, all science products and science kits will be 15% off.
