Join four-time Grammy nominee and USA Fontanals Fellow, John Santos, for the opening program of the SF Public Library’s “American Sabor” exhibit on Saturday, August 27.

Santos and his stellar sextet will perform and provide educational insights on the historical and cultural significance of Latin Jazz, as well as its aesthetic characteristics pertaining to instrumentation, rhythm, interpretation and improvisation.  Chelis Lopez of Rincon Literario of KPOO radio station will serve as the program MC.

About “American Sabor”
Everything from samba to salsa will be covered in “American Sabor,” an exhibition on Latinos in U.S. Popular Music in the Skylight Gallery of the SF Main Library from Saturday, August 27 through Sunday, November 13. In support of this traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian, the library will also be hosting a series of free music, dance, film and lectures, all in the spirit of celebrating the true flavor of Latin music in the United States.
