The Ellington in Jack London Square is playing host to Shaw Eddington, acclaimed author of the new book Read Between the Lines: A Humorous Guide to Texting with Simplicity and Style.
Eddington will be reading from her book and answering questions about the dos and don’ts of texting in the Ellington’s club room on Wednesday, June 30, from 5-7 PM. All are welcome.
At this event, Eddington plans to also discuss her drive to make people aware of the growing dangers of textual harassment, specifically in the 13-16 year-old age range. Ms. Eddington is distributing bracelets and urging people to take the I B R pledge:
I – Ignore the Text – DON’T RESPOND & make a copy of the message
B – Block – Call your provider and have them block the number
R – Report – Report the harassment to the police
