Event Details

For their second film, they are going to play the story of Ruth’s life as a Lesbian in Springfield, Illinois and Detroit. Born in 1899, she was at one time the oldest “out” African American Lesbian. In 1999, Ellis’s life was made the subject of the documentary “Living With Pride: Ruth C. Ellis @ 100,” directed by Yvonne Welbon.
