The Alice B. Toklas LGBTQ Democratic Club is hosting a “Back to School Night” with San Francisco Unified School District officials, administrators, and parents to discuss the school year ahead! The District currently faces internal and external challenges that threaten vulnerable student and family populations, as well as the District’s financial health. But SFUSD is also filled with resilient and creative students and new leadership—all reasons for great optimism.
Panelists include: (1) Phil Kim, President, San Francisco Board of Education; (2) Mark Sanchez, Principal, Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy; (3) Bianca Rowden Quince, Ed.D., SFUSD Parent; and (4) Ed Center, Founder & Parenting Coach, The Village Well.
What are the greatest challenges and opportunities currently facing SFUSD? What is the experience of LGBTQ+ students and parents at SFUSD? How will SFUSD retain its core values in the face of significant opposition from the US government? Join Alice at the Harvey Milk Center for the Arts to participate in the discussion!
