During the pandemic, comedians have taken to the stratosphere (aka Zoom) to perform their craft. Lisa Geduldig, the creator and producer of Kung Pao Kosher Comedy™ – Jewish comedy on Christmas in a Chinese Restaurant (now in its 28th year) and other acclaimed San Francisco comedy shows including the on-hiatus-because-of-the-pandemic “Comedy Returns to El Rio” (which has been running for a dozen years in San Francisco’s Mission District) will be launching a monthly comedy series Lockdown Comedy in July with comedians from across the globe.

Lockdown Comedy will launch on Thursday July 16 featuring Across the Pond Comedy with London comedians: Shazia Mirza, Tanyalee Davis, and Mark Maier. Lisa Geduldig MCs and her mother, Arline, will be a Special Guest. Subsequent themed shows may include Comedians Living with Their Parents.

Shazia Mirza is an award-winning British stand up comedian and writer from the UK. She has toured all over the world and has appeared on Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, The Craig Ferguson Show, and has been profiled on 60 Minutes. Shazia’s other TV appearances include; The Jonathan Ross Show, Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, Travel Man, 48 Hours In…, Top Gear, The One Show, Celebrities v Child Genius Christmas Special 2018, Celebs In Solitary, Loose Women, The Late Late Show, and The Wright Stuff/Jeremy Vine. Her radio appearances include: Graham Norton Show, Loose Ends, The Infinite Monkey Cage, The Museum of Curiosity, Quote Unquote, Steve Wright in the Afternoon, and The Robert Elms Show.

Tanyalee Davis is a stand up comedian who inspires, enlightens, and entertains her audiences while headlining at comedy clubs, colleges, and comedy festivals throughout North America, the UK, and other parts of the world. At 3’6″, Tanyalee is the Ferrari of comedy – low to the ground and kind of racy.
The Canadian born US citizen now makes her home in the UK where she is in the top echelon of her craft. She was voted by the Comedy Industry as 1 of the Top Club Acts 2020 for the #ChortleAwards in the UK. Tanyalee has performed in Canada, the US, UK, Cayman Islands, Australia, Japan, Dubai, Bahrain, Slovenia, Amsterdam, and Belgium. She had a successful 6-month contract performing Little Comedian, BIG Laughs just off the Las Vegas Strip. Mark Maier, a British Jewish award-winning writer and stand up comedian, is an established and highly sought-after performer on both the English and international comedy circuit. The London-based comedian has performed at comedy clubs in Germany, Holland, Ireland, Hong Kong, the Bahamas, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He has also appeared at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles and at Caroline’s in New York City. Amongst his many credits, Mark has taught and performed improv with Catherine Tate in London and has both written and performed a string of successful radio series for BBC Radios 2, 4 and 5. Lisa Geduldig is a San Francisco-based comedian and comedy producer who is most known for her annual comedy tradition Kung Pao Kosher Comedy™ — Jewish comedy on Christmas in a Chinese Restaurant, which celebrates its 28th year this December (in Cyberspace). Before the pandemic, Lisa had been running a monthly decade-long comedy show at El Rio in San Francisco where her comedy career began 30 years ago. Lisa also does freelance arts PR in both English and Spanish…again when there’s not a pandemic.
