A Presentation by Dr. Pascal Lee of the Mars Institute, SETI Institute, and NASA Ames Research Center. The first human mission to Mars will be humanity’s greatest adventure in space exploration in the 21st century. The first steps towards this journey are already underway as they achieve longer spaceflight missions, plan for deep space journeys to Near-Earth Asteroids, and explore extreme environments on Earth viewed as Mars “analogs”.
Dr. Lee, who has worked extensively in the Arctic and Antarctic, will discuss progress being made around the world and examine the what, why, how, when, and who of the first human mission to Mars.
