Event Details

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Black Contribution Read-a-thon takes place on Sunday, January 19, 2014 between 1-3 pm at the Main Library in San Francisco, African American Center, Third Floor.

Come celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday by participating in remembering all the great contributions African Americans and Africans have given to the world.

Read an excerpt from your favorite black author, say a quote from Malcolm X, talk about a black painter that inspired you, read a part of a play written by a black dramatist, or show a map of a country in Africa.

To speak for a couple of minutes, just show up and you will be put on the list. They will try to let as many people as they can fit in the two hours.
