The Parkinson’s Foundation will host its annual Moving Day San Francisco, a Walk for Parkinson’s, on May 4 at Crissy Field. The in-person event is one of many community events taking place across the country this year. Funds raised through Moving Day will support cutting-edge research, care and education programs to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and their families.
Moving Day San Francisco is a celebration of movement and exercise—proven to help manage PD symptoms. At Moving Day San Francisco, community members will gather for demonstrations of dance and other movement disciplines to warm up for the 5K walk. This year’s Moving Day event will also honor Cecelia Beam, manager and lead teacher of the San Francisco Ballet School’s dance class for people with PD.
Since 2011, Moving Day events across the country have raised more than $45 million supporting the Parkinson’s Foundation mission to make life better for people with PD.
Attendees will include people with Parkinson’s disease and their families, health professionals, local businesses and more.
