The country’s largest dance week comes back to San Francisco (as well as the East Bay, North Bay and South Bay) for 2011.

The festival runs for 10 days April 22-May 1 and this year is bigger than ever with over 400 free dance events, a huge opening celebration, and dance events as diverse as Scottish dancing, salsa, tango, hip-hop, clogging, fire dance, Samba, aerial dance, hula – you name it and it’s probably happening at Bay Area National Dance Week and it’s free.

Highlights of Dance Week Day 2: Saturday, April 23

The San Francisco Ballet School presents excerpts from its Spring Program  with an open rehearsal.

LEVYdance collaborative visual art, dance & live music performance [ Sign Up Here ]
A collaborative mine of artists across disciplines culminating in a free showing and after-party. A Smörgåsbord of artistry with visual art, dance, live music & general mayhem as the kamikaze-inclined tackle the heights of the Studio Gracia black box. Relax on couches & bear witness.
