Event Details

Now in its 12th year, A Night of Short French Films continues its annual tradition of presenting the best independent filmmakers from France, with all but one of the 8 short films made in 2020, and 50% directed by women. In years past the Night of Short French Films sells out quickly, with patrons enjoying a wine and cheese intermission to engage in thought-provoking conversation. This is the first (and hopefully the last) year the program is presented online, viewable from the comfort of home, and accessible throughout California!

Since its inception, the Night of Short French Films has showcased films by the most creative independent filmmakers in France today. Over the years, the series has presented universal themes such as family and friends, love and society, with the goal of creating a gathering place for short film enthusiasts in the heart of Los Angeles. This year will be no different with a selection that celebrates excellence in short film making.

This year we’re introducing Audience Awards, where the audience votes for their favorite films through online balloting. At the conclusion of viewing, the film with the highest overall score is the winner. The winner Audience Award will be sent the results along with a congratulatory letter.
