Oakland MLK Day Call To Activism Gathering
“Come Together Oakland” is the title of a community gathering being sponsored by Ground Game Ministries in conjunction with Oakland City Church to promote activism around the issues of gun violence, homelessness and human trafficking in Oakland. It will take place on January 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakland City Church, 2735 MacArthur Boulevard Boulevard, and Coolidge Avenue In Oakland.
Join Oakland grassroots community activists; Nola Brantley of Nola Brantley Speaks, Daryle Allums of Adamika Village and Oakland Frontline Healers, Lisa “Tiny” Gray-Garcia of Poor Magazine, Brenda Grisham of the Christopher LaVell Jones Foundation, Oakland City Councilperson, Janani Ramachandran, community activist, Azlinah Tambu, and special guests Oakland hip-hop dance sensations, the Turf Fiendz as well as musical guest, Jen Allen Zito.
Your host will be Rev. Harry Williams aka OG Rev, Executive Director of Ground Game Ministries (www.theogrev.com).
The program will be followed by community meal where members will be able dialogue with political and community leaders about ways that concerned residents can participate in the healing of the city. This event will be free. All gladly welcome.
