Join us for a Panel Discussion on Anti-Asian Hate and Economic Challenges Facing Our Chinatowns
About this event
SFCAUSE (San Francisco Community Alliance for Unity, Safety, and Education) is presenting a hybrid event on September 25th, 2021 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm which will include a panel discussion on Anti-Asian Hate and the Economic Challenges affecting our Chinatowns.
After the panel discussion, a ceremony will be held honoring Dion Lim with the Champion of Truth Award.
Moderating the discussion will be Nancy Tung, SFCAUSE Board Member on Anti-Asian Hate & Economic Challenges Facing Bay Area Chinatowns. Panelists include:
Erika Moritsugu: Deputy Assistant to the President and AAPI Senior Liaison
Carl Chan: President of Oakland Chinatown’s Chamber of Commerce and “unofficial Mayor of Oakland Chinatown”
Cynthia Choi: Co-Executive Director of CAA, founding partner of Stop AAPI Hate
George Q. Chen: Owner, Founder, and Chairman of China Live

Panelists will discuss Anti-Asian hate and the economic challenges facing our Chinatowns. This will be live-streamed from the Great Star Theater in English and Cantonese simultaneously.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., a ceremony will be held honoring Dion Lim with the Champion of Truth Award for her deep commitment to give the voiceless a voice.
Due to COVID-19 safety precautions capacity is limited. Guests attending in-person are required to wear a mask and provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative test for COVID-19 upon entry.
