We are very proud to announce our 3rd monthly art show and our first Latina artist as Carmen Milagro & The Payne Mansion Hotel Present: “America Today!” an exhibit by America Jimenez de Lara and Silent Auction to benefit Performing Arts Workshop (http://performingartsworkshop.org).

America Jimenez de Lara was born and raised in Mexico’s beautiful countryside. A graduate from UC Berkeley with a BA in Arts with emphasis in mixed media (oils, watercolors, acrylics, sculpture, photography) as well as creative writing and ceramics, America decided to leave the corporate world in 2012, to pursue her passion as an artist and become an advocate for Culture and Education. She launched and is CEO of Global America which promotes a “Cultural Renaissance”. Recently merging Global America with CandleLight to create a Gallery and Studio that will allow for a stronger growth and impact in the arts.

Artist Statement:
My art is a depiction of our times, history, and my life path. My journey has taken me through many areas of Mexico, Latin America and the US, and is expressed through my work. The diversity of the multicultural spectrum that I’ve experienced from living in rural areas, urban communities, and then in the San Francisco Bay Area has shaped my perception of the world and humanity. My thoughts are expressed by blending the beauty of intellect, culture and traditions. These unique characteristics of my life helped me evolve into the person I am today and is reflected in my work.
