Waiters, doormen, bellhops, baristas, barbers, card dealers, movers, tattoo artists and even prostitutes: the people in America working for tips make up 3 percent of the total workforce, or about twice the size of the U.S. Military!

Author Steve Dublanica, now famous for his first book Waiter Rant, is back with the truth about the wide world of tipping. Think about how often you tip. It’s been estimated that close to $60 Billion a year is spent on tipping in the US.

In this event, Dublanica talks about his new book Keep the Change: A Clueless Tipper’s Quest to Become the Guru of the Gratuity.” Opening with a broad and light cultural history of tipping, the book then delves briefly into the tip’s primary restaurant industry role before moving on to its impact in lesser known and often neglected businesses by examining their gratuity-related transactions.

It’s a free event and, no, you don’t have to tip.
