Sacred Stream Center | 2149 Byron Street, Berkeley, CA 94702

In this reading, Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D. will discuss the new edition of her widely acclaimed book, The Return to the Great Mother. She will show how this new and expanded edition, The New Return to the Great Mother: Birth, Initiation, and the Sacred Feminine can help mothers, their partners, and birth professionals rediscover the transformative feminine power at the heart of the birthing process. “Great Mother” is a term that many cultures use to refer to the generative and creative power of the Earth. The book touches on several of the trends that have led many to become disconnected from feminine power. It also offers the perspective of birth as an initiation and the healing implications of this perspective. The paths of discovery that many women have taken to reclaim this power are presented here. Their stories about how this power was revealed during the birth process can inspire others to find their own path to the Great Mother.

Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D. is the Founding Director of the Foundation of the Sacred Stream, a school for consciousness studies in Berkeley, CA. Isa is also the creator of the spiritual counseling model, Depth Hypnosis, and the author of Coming to Peace and Depth Hypnosis: A Path to Inner Transformation. She is the lead instructor for many of the classes at Sacred Stream, including Tracking Spirit in the Birth Environment, Initiations of the Sacred Feminine, and the Depth Hypnosis Foundation Course.
