RightsFest will screen Always My Son, which chronicles the transformation of a father and self-described “macho Mexican” who wrestles with his teenage son’s sexual identity but eventually becomes the co-founder of his town’s first LGBT youth support group.

Confirmed panelists: Director Vivian Kleiman, and film subjects Ed and Elizabeth Plata.

Wednesday will also feature The Fall of the I-Hotel, the seminal film about the brutal eviction of elderly Filipino tenants in San Francisco’s International Hotel, and the community’s fight to survive.

Confirmed panelist: activist Emil DeGuzman.
