Named the “official band of the City of San Francisco” in 2003, the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band is the world’s first openly gay music organization, inspiring the formation of lesbian and gay bands, choruses and performing troupes around the world.
Audience members may visit the instrument “petting zoo”.

About The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival: The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival presents music, theater, dance, cultural events, educational and children’s programs, reflecting the rich cultures and creativity of the region. Between May and October the Festival presents nearly 100 programs in Yerba Buena Gardens, all FREE and open to the public.
Location: Yerba Buena Gardens is a 2.5-block complex bordered by Mission, Folsom, 3rd and 4th Streets in San Francisco. This unique outdoor venue includes a 5.5 acre lawn, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Waterfall, the Sister City Garden, and several striking sculptures. [Map and Directions]
