SFMOMA’s Mini Mural Festival 2022 (Sept. 10-11)
Watch the artistic process unfold live in our second Mini Mural Festival! Our 2022 event takes place over one weekend in September, with partner organizations the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) and Youth Art Exchange hosting each festival day, respectively. Artists will paint 8’x12’ murals outdoors throughout the day at SFMOMA, while music, performances, and other fun surprises complement the art experience. The murals will be temporarily displayed at the museum, then returned to the partner organizations.
WHAT:
The MINI MURAL FESTIVAL features student artists from the San Francisco Art Institute (September 10) and Youth Art Exchange (September 11) live-painting murals outdoors at SFMOMA. Visitors can also enjoy music, performances and other fun surprises throughout the day.
WHO:
Audiences of all ages are welcome! For Free Family Day on Sunday, September 11, families are invited to the Koret Education Center on Floor 2 for storytime with the San Francisco Public Library at 11 a.m. as well as hands-on artmaking with Youth Art Exchange, a family kit with a sketchbook and a treasure hunt exploring Diego Rivera’s artwork.
