Shakuhachi Concert inside Japanese Tea Garden (Golden Gate Park)

Shakuhachi Master, Masayuki Koga and members of the Japanese Music Institute of America’s performing ensemble will be performing at the Japanese Tea Garden Pagoda in Golden Gate Park on Saturday, March 7th, from 2 – 3pm. Koga-sensei’s unique ability to translate the ephemerality of true artistry into a precise language of body and spirit awareness invites both his students and audience members to connect with original sound, a quality of performing and listening that moves us beyond the ego’s need to control and analyze.
